Nick Baatz, Track & Field
University Books & More and the Wisconsin National Guard are pleased to announce that Nick Baatz (Sr. • Brownsville) of the track & field team has been chosen as the UW-Oshkosh Male Athlete of the Week for May 6-12.
Baatz broke UW-Oshkosh’s shot put record at the Eagle Open on May 10 in La Crosse.
Baatz marked a winning distance of 59-11.25, which ranks
second in the NCAA Division III this season. Teammate Nick
Grosskopf finished second in the event at 56-6.75.
With the discus, Baatz tossed a 166-0 for fourth place. He then listed fifth in the hammer throw at 184-6.
No team scores were kept at the meet.
Each week throughout the 2012-13 school year, one male and one female UW-Oshkosh student-athlete will be recognized for their accomplishments from the previous week. The award winners will be announced on the UW-Oshkosh athletics website every Tuesday morning.
