UW-Oshkosh's Pat Juckem was named the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Coach of the Week by HoopDirt.com.
Juckem led the Titans to a 2-0 record during the week, including a 95-89 double-overtime victory over Augustana College (Ill.) in a battle of nationally ranked teams on Saturday (Dec. 2) in Kolf Sports Center.
UW-Oshkosh (5-0) went into Saturday's battle of previously unbeaten programs ranked 18th by D3hoops.com while Augustana College (4-1), which appeared in last year's Division III title game, listed second.
The Titans pulled out the thrilling double-overtime decision by outrebounding the Vikings, 48-35, including 19-11 on the offensive end. UW-Oshkosh also connected on 31 of 45 free throws as the Titans had their most attempts at the foul line since 2000.
UW-Oshkosh's triumph over Augustana College was the first in 11 all-time meetings since the series began during the 1922-23 season.
Juckem, who has guided UW-Oshkosh to the NCAA postseason the past two seasons, also coached the Titans to a 71-58 win at North Park University on Tuesday (Nov. 28) in Chicago, Ill.
Juckem sports a 75-65 record in his six seasons at UW-Oshkosh, including marks of 18-10 in 2016 and 17-11 last season. The Titans' 5-0 start this year is the program's best since opening the 2007-08 season with seven consecutive wins.
