The WIAC chose UW-Oshkosh guard Ben Boots as its Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games held Jan. 22-28.
Boots averaged 15.5 points, 4.5 assists, 4 rebounds and 2.5 steals as UW-Oshkosh defeated UW-Stevens Point, 68-53, and UW-River Falls, 78-57.
Boots totaled 31 points by converting 11-20 (55 percent) shots from the field and 7 of 9 (77.8 percent) free throws. He also made 2 of 6 (33.3 percent) 3-point shots while compiling nine assists, eight rebounds and five steals.
In UW-Oshkosh's home win over UW-Stevens Point on Jan. 24, Boots counted 16 points, four assists, four rebounds and four steals in 31 minutes of action as the Titans handed the Pointers their first WIAC loss of the season.
During the Titans' road victory over defending WIAC champion UW-River Falls on Jan. 27, Boots tallied 15 points, five assists and four rebounds in 32 minutes of activity. Boots scored 13 points in the second half as UW-Oshkosh broke away from a 29-26 halftime lead.
