UW-Oshkosh got its first shutout of the season during a 0-0 men's soccer tie with Marian University on Wednesday (Sept. 12) in Fond du Lac.
The Titans (1-1-2) out-shot the Sabres (0-3-2) by a 27-10 margin, but neither team was able to find the net. UW-Oshkosh totaled a 19-3 advantage in shots during the second half and a 3-1 margin during the second overtime period.
Ryan Redmond (Jr. • Lake Elmo, Minn.) fired six attempts at the goal, while Sean Boulanger (Fr. • New Franken) had five and Jonathan Stanley (Fr. • Lindenhurst, Ill.) four for UW-Oshkosh. Marian University was led by two shots apiece from Danny Heerhold and Zach Peltonen.
Both goalkeepers played all 110 minutes, with Bryce Woldt saving 12 shots for the Sabres and Nick Barry (So. • Wheaton, Ill.) stopping three for the Titans.
UW-Oshkosh, which had won 13 straight matches against Marian, owned a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The Titans will play Cardinal Stritch University on Saturday (Sept. 15) at Titan Stadium.
