Ryan Hanna (Jr. • Verona) and Levi Corbeil-Wild (Fr. • Minneapolis, Minn.) each got on the scoreboard during UW-Oshkosh's 2-0 win over the Cardinal Stritch University men's soccer team on Saturday (Sept. 15) at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.
The Titans (2-1-2) were strong on defense, allowing just two shots on goal (six total). Nick Barry (So. • Wheaton, Ill.) stopped two attempts in recording his second straight shutout.
In the game's 20th minute (19:25), Hanna fired and scored from 10 yards in front of the goal. Evan Krause (Fr. • New Berlin) and Danny Karrels (So. • Port Washington) each counted an assist on the play.
The next 52 minutes were quiet until Corbeil-Wild found the net at the 72:07 mark. His short goal was set up by Chris Kurth (Jr. • Green Bay) and Jesse Klein (Sr. • Burnsville, Minn.). It was the first collegiate score for Corbeil-Wild.
UW-Oshkosh's 12 shots featured four by Hanna and three from Danny Fisher (So. • Waunakee). The Titans also owned a 6-4 margin in corner kicks.
Cardinal Stritch (3-3) received two shots apiece from Josh Roberts and Tom Shepherd. Jim Jones (three saves) and Harry Shatwell (two saves) each guarded the Wolves' goal for 45 minutes and allowed one goal.
The Titans return to the field on Sunday (Sept. 16) against Augustana College (Ill.).
