UW-Oshkosh commences the 2017-18 men's swimming & diving season by hosting 25-time WIAC champion UW-Eau Claire on Saturday (Oct. 14) in Albee Hall.
The season opener is the first of four home dual meets this season for the Titans.
UW-Oshkosh also hosts 18-time defending WIAC champion UW-Stevens Point on Dec. 8, Beloit College on Jan. 19 and four-time WIAC champion UW-La Crosse on Jan. 20.
The Titans' schedule features the Wisconsin College Showcase on Oct. 21 in Brown Deer, Lawrence University Invitational on Nov. 18, Carthage College Classic on Nov. 30-Dec. 2, and the University of Illinois-Chicago Diving Invitational on Feb. 3.
UW-Oshkosh's schedule also includes road dual meets at Carroll University on Oct. 28, WIAC member UW-Whitewater on Nov. 10, Lawrence University on Jan. 6 and Ripon College on Feb. 3.
Last season, UW-Oshkosh compiled a 3-5 record in dual meets. The Titans defeated Ripon College, 99-90, and added wins of 97-85 over Beloit College and 99-83 over Lawrence University. UW-Oshkosh also finished fifth among eight teams with 374 points at last year's Carthage College Classic.
The 2018 WIAC Championship will be held Feb. 15-17 in Brown Deer while the season concludes with the NCAA Division III Championship on March 21-24 in Indianapolis, Ind.
UW-Oshkosh placed fifth at last year's WIAC Championship with 198 points. UW-Stevens Point tallied 971.5 points to clinch its 21st overall league title. UW-Eau Claire finished a distant second with 720.5 points while UW-Whitewater placed third with 656 points and UW-La Crosse fourth with 539.
Third-year UW-Oshkosh head coach Christopher Culp returns nine of his 10 letter winners from the 2016-17 team. Among the returnees is Ross Armitage, who produced a ninth-place finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle at the 2017 WIAC Championship.
