Brandon Clapper (So. • Plainfield) and Nazar Kulchytskyy (Jr. • Sosnivka, Ukraine) earned four victories as UW-Oshkosh marked a 2-2 record at the Milwaukee School of Engineering Wrestling Duals held Saturday (Jan. 5) in Milwaukee.
UW-Oshkosh (2-4) lost contests of 29-22 to Lakeland College and 28-24 to Wheaton College (Ill.) before defeating the Milwaukee School of Engineering, 26-19, and Maranatha Baptist Bible College, 48-0.
Clapper, competing at 285 pounds, won on pins in 3:18 over Andy Crivellone of Lakeland College and 4:53 over Marcus Rokosh of the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He also defeated Kyle Patton of Wheaton College, 7-2, and received a forfeit against Maranatha Baptist Bible College.
Kulchytskyy pinned three opponents as he stuck 174-pounder Wesley Colton of Lakeland College to the mat in 18 seconds, 165-pounder John Sarna of Wheaton College in 54 seconds and 165-pounder Russell Carey of the Milwaukee School of Engineering in 67 seconds. Kulchytskyy also won on a forfeit against Maranatha Baptist Bible College to raise his career record to 72-3 (34 pins).
Tom Dahlke (So. • Shicoton) went unbeaten in three matches for the Titans at 157 pounds. Dahlke notched wins of 17-5 over Jake Maechtle of Lakeland College and 6-2 over Toby Mosley of Wheaton College before defeating Dallas Schurg of the Milwaukee School of Engineering, 8-3.
UW-Oshkosh's David Rosenau (Sr. • Van Dyne) went 3-1 at 133 pounds. He defeated Eduardo Orihuela of Lakeland College, 7-2, before receiving a forfeit against Wheaton College. Following a 4-1 loss to Austin Binish of the Milwaukee School of Engineering, Rosenau pinned Zach Zimmerman of Maranatha Baptist Bible College in 67 seconds.
Picking up two wins for UW-Oshkosh Hunter Mulock (Fr. • Baraboo) at 141 pounds, Mason McMullen (Jr. • Milwaukee) at 149, Jay Howarth (So. • Coleman) at 184 and Korey Kleinhans (So. • Oconomowoc) at 197.
Mulock won twice on a forfeit to split his four matches. He lost 12-1 to Nick Miceli of the Milwaukee School of Engineering and was pinned in 2:30 by Lakeland College's Marcus McCauley.
McMullen earned a split in his four contests after defeating Matt Ostovich of the Milwaukee School of Engineering, 6-2, and receiving a forfeit against Maranatha Baptist Bible College. He was pinned in 3:45 by James Parker of Lakeland College and suffered a 13-5 loss to Mark Savenok of Wheaton College.
Howarth tallied a 2-1 mark, with his only blemish being a loss on a pin in 18 seconds to Wheaton College's Dan Olsen. Howarth defeated Eddie Terres of Lakeland College, 12-5, and Dylan Allison of the Milwaukee School of Engineering, 21-6.
Kleinhans was credited with a win in both of his contests. He edged James Kuczynski of the Milwaukee School of Engineering, 8-7, before receiving a forfeit against Maranatha Baptist Bible College.
