Kulchytskyy Selected WIAC Wrestler Of The Week

UW-Oshkosh's Nazar Kulchytskyy (Jr. • Sosnivka, Ukraine) earned WIAC Wrestler of the Week honors after capturing the 165-pound title at the Pete Willson Invitational held Feb. 1-2 in Wheaton, Ill. The award recognized performances from Jan. 28 - Feb. 3.

Kulchytskyy went unbeaten in four contests to raise his season record to 32-1 (19 pins). He registered a 12-3 victory over Nick Fishback of NCAA Division II UW-Parkside in the championship match.

En route to the title bout, Kulchytskyy pinned Brian Snyder of Case Western Reserve University (Ohio) in 50 seconds, scored a 26-10 win over Ethan Farmer of Wabash College (Ind.) and pinned Yousef Al-Ghoul of Elmhurst College (Ill.) in 2:10. Kulchytskyy's career record now stands at 89-3 (43 pins).

UW-Parkside won the 29-team meet with 151.5 points. Messiah College (Pa.), ranked 16th in the NCAA Division III by the National Wrestling Coaches Association, took second with 105 points and fifth-ranked UW-La Crosse third with 87. UW-Oshkosh finished 13th with 52 points.
