Strupp Selected National Athlete Of The Week

Breanna Strupp's (Sr. • Slinger) career-best shot put gained her National Athlete of the Week from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Strupp booked a shot put of 51-4.5 at the Eastbay Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 16) in Stevens Point. That distance ranks fifth in NCAA Division III history. UW-Oshkosh's Robyn Jarocki holds the all-time record with a 55-11.25 from 2006.

Strupp's mark leads the nation this year by 43.5 inches. It topped the Eastbay Invitational standings by more than eight feet, as Coco Booker (Saint Mary's, Minn.) placed second at 43-1.5.

In the weight throw, Strupp placed third with a mark of 54-5.5. Teammate Samantha Loew captured first place at 57-3.75.
