250 UW-Oshkosh Student-Athletes On WIAC Honor Roll

The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) recognized 250 UW-Oshkosh student-athletes for achieving a 3.0 grade-point average (GPA) or higher during the 2014-15 academic year.

Each of the 21 UW-Oshkosh teams were represented on the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll, with the football squad leading the way with 38 selections. UW-Oshkosh’s total also included 34 qualifiers from women’s track & field, 28 from men’s track & field, 21 from women’s soccer, 16 from both men’s cross country and women’s swimming & diving, and 14 each from baseball, softball and women’s cross country.

Without counting a student-athlete more than once, UW-Oshkosh had 130 women and 120 men receive mention on the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll. The list was led by the 4.0 GPAs of Jordan Carpenter from men's cross country, Derek Johnsrud from men's track & field and Sara Keller from women's swimming & diving,

Overall, UW-Oshkosh teams combined for a 3.026 GPA during the 2014-15 academic year. Women’s basketball led the way with a 3.377 mark, while women’s golf followed at 3.363, softball at 3.261, women’s soccer at 3.251 and both women’s gymnastics and women’s tennis at 3.212.

UW-La Crosse led all WIAC schools with a cumulative GPA from its student-athletes of 3.260.
