UW-Oshkosh had three players victorious in both singles and doubles play as it rolled to an 8-1 triumph over Concordia University Wisconsin on Friday (Feb. 22) at the Oshkosh YMCA Tennis Center.
Lewis defeated Skip Turner, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1 singles while teaming with Bobby Brooks (Jr. • Neenah) to post an 8-2 victory over Turner and Taylor Shaffer at No. 1 doubles.
Gillespie beat Shaffer, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 3 singles and worked with Aidan Sauberlich (So. • Green Bay) to tally an 8-0 win over Russell Johnson and Terry Jones at No. 2 doubles.
Kasper ousted Jones, 6-2, 7-5, at No. 4 singles and joined forces with Ross Kohlhase (Jr. • Green Bay) to edge Antoine Leon and Garrett Wells by an 8-6 score at No. 3 doubles.
Other individual winners for UW-Oshkosh were Alex Yang (Fr. • Milwaukee) and Anthony Greco (Jr. • Kenosha). Yang recorded a 4-6, 6-2 (10-3) victory over Leon at No. 5 singles, while Greco marked a 6-4, 6-4 triumph over Tanner Hahn at No. 6 singles.
Concordia University Wisconsin (0-3), which has lost all nine of its matches with UW-Oshkosh, earned its lone team point on Johnson's 1-6, 6-4 (10-4) win over Sauberlich at No. 2 singles.
UW-Oshkosh is off until it battles Carthage College and Milwaukee School of Engineering on March 2 at the Oshkosh YMCA Tennis Center.
