The selections of John Auer and Ryan Powers gave UW-Oshkosh a sweep of the first WIAC Men’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards for the 2018-19 season.
UW-Oshkosh owned the top-five finishers in both the 3,000-meter run and long jump and the top-four finishers in both the 60-meter dash and mile run to easily dominate the Olivet Nazarene University Men’s Track & Field Holiday Invitational held Friday in Bourbonnais, Ill.
The UW-Oshkosh men’s track & field team owned the first-place finisher in 12 events and the second-place finisher in 10 categories to easily win its own Early Bird Invitational on Saturday in Kolf Sports Center.
UW-Oshkosh gets the 2018-19 men’s indoor track & field season underway on Saturday when it hosts the Early Bird Invitational in Kolf Sports Center.
The UW-Oshkosh Athletics Hall of Fame increased its roster to 203 members with Sunday’s induction of cross country and track & field athletes Elizabeth (Woodworth) Kujawa and Steve Merline, baseball players Andy Pascarella and Jack Taschner, track & field athlete Kevin Deering, soccer player Roberto Gutierrez, and swimmer Cheri (Tiegs) Meyer.
