UW-Oshkosh had a pair of top 30 finishers during its seventh-place performance at the UW-Eau Claire Men's Cross Country Blugold Invitational on Friday (Sept. 29) in Colfax.
Lucas Weber paced the Titans by completing the 5,000-meter course with a 24th-place time of 25:56. UW-Oshkosh's Michael Juarez finished 29th among the meet's 263 runners with a time of 26:00 and Cody Chadwick 54th in 26:33.
UW-La Crosse won the 13-team meet with 33 points while UW-Eau Claire ranked second with 80, UW-Stout third with 91, UW-Platteville fourth with 124 and St. Olaf College (Minn.) fifth with 140.
UW-Oshkosh finished seventh in the team standings after totaling 191 points. UW-Whitewater placed sixth with 169 points, Minnesota Running Club eighth with 208, Saint John's University (Minn.) ninth with 238 and NCAA Division II Winona State University (Minn.) 10th with 258.
UW-Eau Claire's Darin Lau captured the individual title with a time of 24:15. Unattached John Vodacek finished second with a time of 24:57 while UW-Platteville's Walker Rynes placed third in 25:08, UW-La Crosse's Thomas Schultz fourth in 25:13 and UW-Platteville's Zach Lee fifth in 25:14.
Other UW-Oshkosh results featured Skyler Yunk finishing 83rd with a time of 26:55, Dan Massey 86th in 26:58, Noah O'Neill 89th in 26:59, Noah Bruehl 104th in 27:15, Jacob Rost 105th in 27:15, Austin Baker 115th in 27:21, Andrew George 117th in 27:25, Bennett Krueger 120th in 27:27 and Henry Laste 131st in 27:34.
UW-Oshkosh will compete at Lawrence University's Gene Davis Invitational next Saturday (Oct. 7) in Appleton.
