The UW-Oshkosh men's cross country team scored 94 points while recording a third-place finish at the Lawrence University Gene Davis Invitational held Saturday (Oct. 6) in Appleton.
UW-Oshkosh received top-25 scoring efforts from five participants in the 113-runner meet, including Fabian Salinas Arroyo who completed the 8,000-meter course with a 12th-place time of 26:58.
The Wisconsin Track Club edged second-place Carroll University, 69-77, to win the 10-team meet. Following third-place UW-Oshkosh was fourth-place Lake Forest College (Ill.) with 111 points, fifth-place UW-Stevens Point with 126 and sixth-place Lawrence University with 138.
Lawrence University's Josh Janusiak won the individual title with a time of 25:04. Jorge Villanueva of Lake Forest College finished second with a time of 25:40 while Joe Kortenhof of Lawrence University placed third in 26:12.
Carroll University owned the next two runners as Spencer Kirsteatter finished fourth with a time of 26:19 and Kyle Adams fifth in 26:26.
Other UW-Oshkosh results featured Skyler Yunk placing 31st with a time of 27:47, Collin Borazo 41st in 28:02, Austin Baker 42nd in 28:04, Parker Scheld 44th in 28:09, Aaron Dorsey 50th in 28:19, Zachary Molland 52nd in 28:20 and Brian McKnight 60th in 28:43.
UW-Oshkosh will host the Kollege Town Sports Invitational next Saturday (Oct. 13) at the Lake Breeze Golf in Winneconne.
