Titans Take Care Of Vikings

UW-Oshkosh won seven events on its way to a 128-93 women’s swimming and diving decision over Lawrence University on Friday (Dec. 9) in Appleton.

Allison Booth (So. • Middleton) was responsible for two victories, taking the one- and three-meter diving competitions with scores of 225.83 and 226.58, respectively.

Four first-place efforts came from Britney Hilgendorf (Fr. • Madison) in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:21.99, Vanessa Jagodinsky (So. • Green Bay) in the 100-yard backstroke with a mark of 1:10.12, Emily Shandley (Jr. • Oak Creek) in the 50-yard freestyle with a performance of 25.93 and Melissa Harvey (Sr. • Kingsford, Mich.) in the 100-yard freestyle with an effort of 58.48.

The Titans then had Hilgendorf, Jagodinsky, Shandley and Katie Duffey (Jr. • McFarland) win the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:01.72.

UW-Oshkosh posted 10 second-place finishes to dominate Lawrence University. Cassie Dutko (Jr. • Oshkosh) earned runner-up status in the one-meter diving with values of 186.60 and 195.98, respectively. Meanwhile, the 200-yard freestyle relay group of Harvey, Shandley, Hannah Forcey (So. • Appleton) and Marissa Graff (So. • Houghton, Mich.) compiled a second-place time of 1:49.13.

Other finishes of second came from Harvey in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:29.70, Hilgendorf in the 500-yard freestyle with a mark of 5:32.47, Shandley in the 100-yard backstroke with a figure of 1:10.63 and Graff in the 200-yard freestyle with a value of 2:08.64. Forcey took the second position in the 100-yard freestyle at 58.95, along with Duffey in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:05.04 and Samantha Sommers (Sr. • Suamico) in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:16.64.

Sommers began the third-place results with her time of 11:56.88 in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Forcey listed third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a mark of 1:17.84, and so did Graff in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:45.81. Jagodinsky clocked a 100-yard butterfly time of 1:05.78 and Desiree Deming (Fr. • Cedarburg) a 50-yard freestyle mark of 29.07 to also earn third place.

The Titans will train in Florida from Dec. 15-23 before hosting Northern Michigan University on Jan. 7 in Albee Hall.
