Emily Reichenberger won the 100-meter dash and ran on a second-place 400-meter relay team while Cara Volz won the triple jump and finished third in the 100-meter hurdles as UW-Oshkosh competed at the UW-Platteville Women's Track & Field Invitational on Thursday (April 12) in Platteville.
Reichenberger helped UW-Oshkosh sweep the top three places in the 100-meter dash with her winning time of 12.53 seconds. Titans Taylor Pralle and Olivia Seeley finished second and third among the event's 39 participants with their times of 12.69 and 12.86, respectively.
Reichenberger also ran with Pralle, Seeley and Lauren Wrensch to post a second-place time of 48.31 in the 400-meter relay. Loras College (Iowa) won the event with its time of 48.17.
Volz defeated 10 other contestants in the triple jump with her winning measurement of 37-5 and placed third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.09. University of Dubuque's (Iowa) Jenna Heimark finished second to Volz in the triple jump with her mark of 35-3 3/4.
The Titans had two other second-place listing as Megan Leahy leaped to a height of 11-0 1/4 in the pole vault while Isabella Samuels marked a distance of 44-0 in the shot put. UW-Stevens Point's Angela Breunig won the pole vault and University of Dubuque's Tanasha Atwater the shot put with measurements of 11-6 1/4 and 46-6 3/4, respectively.
Other top results for UW-Oshkosh featured Amanda Van Den Plas placing third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:32.46, Pralle finishing fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.97, and Sadie Huth and Sydney Rau both ranking fifth in the pole vault and 100-meter hurdles with performances of 16.22 seconds and 10-6 1/4, respectively.
UW-Oshkosh also had Alexandria Steger finish seventh in the javelin with a distance of 105-6 and Wrensch 10th in the long jump with a leap of 15-11 3/4.
No team scores were kept at the meet.
The Titans will compete next Thursday (April 19) and Friday (April 20) at UW-La Crosse's Phil Esten Challenge in La Crosse.
