Lauren Wrensch won the long jump while Taylor Pralle finished third in the 100-meter dash as the UW-Oshkosh women's track & field team concluded its regular season with representation at a pair of last chance meets Thursday (May 16).
The Titans had six top-eight finishers, including Wrensch and Pralle, at the UW-La Crosse Final Qualifier and a pair of top-eight place winners at the Augustana College (Ill.) Twilight Invitational.
Selections to next weekend's NCAA Division III Championship in Geneva, Ohio, will be announced Saturday (May 18).
At the UW-La Crosse Final Qualifier, Wrensch defeated 13 other contestants in the long jump with her leap of 19-3 1/4, including UW-Stevens Point's Sylviann Momont who placed second with a mark of 17-10 3/4. Wrensch ranks second nationally with a season-best measurement of 19-4 1/4.
Pralle finished third among 20 sprinters in the 100-meter dash with her time of 12.53 seconds. Morgan Funke of Wartburg College (Iowa) won the race with a time of 12.27 seconds while Tymesia McFadden of UW-Stout placed second in 12.32.
Wrensch and Pralle also ran on UW-Oshkosh's 1,600-meter relay team that posted a fourth-place time of 3:50.81. The time recorded by Wrensch, Pralle, Alexandra Demco and Lindsay Denu ranks 15th in the country.
The Titans also had Hannah Lohrenz finish fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:16.42, Sadie Huth sixth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.05 seconds and Alexandria Steger sixth in the javelin with a throw of 113-2. Steger ranks 25th nationally in the javelin with a season-best measurement of 133-2 while Huth lists 34th in the 100-meter hurdles and Lohrenz 45th in the 800-meter run with times of 14.69 seconds and 2:15.30, respectively.
At the Augustana College Twilight Invitational, Isabella Samuels finished fourth in the shot put with a distance of 44-2 3/4. Carthage College's Sarah Schmidt won the event of 24 participants with a mark of 46-10 3/4. Samuels ranks fourth nationally in the shot put with a season-best measurement of 47-4 1/4.
UW-Oshkosh also had Mikaela Zolecki finish eighth in the hammer throw with a cast of 157-11.
